Improved Live Chat Support coming to UMass Amherst IT homepage

New system will go live on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 8 a.m.

Working to better serve and meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff, UMass Amherst Information Technology (IT) will be rolling out an upgraded chat support system for the IT website.

Starting on Wednesday, February 7, at 8 a.m., members of the campus community looking for help with a tech issue will be able to access the system by visiting and clicking on the “Live Chat Support” button in the lower right-hand portion of the web page, similar to the current method.

The new chat system will provide improved responsiveness and interactions, among other benefits. Depending on need and availability, chat sessions may also be upgraded to a remote desktop support session to better resolve the issue.
