Yrazusta Takes Home Atlantic 10 Co-Player Of The Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The Atlantic 10 Conference tabbed University of Massachusetts senior Ana Yrazusta the A-10 Women's Tennis Co-Player of the Week on Wednesday following Yrazusta's undefeated performances at Brown and against St. John's. Yrazusta won four total matches during the prior week, split between No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles.

Yrazusta started the weekend on Fri., Feb. 2 with a 7-6 (5) tiebreaker win at No. 1 doubles alongside Laura Moreno against Brown's top doubles pair of Juliana Simon and Devon Jack. Yrazusta went on and defeated her third Brown player of the day in singles action as she stepped on the No. 2 court and downed Alysa Benotto 6-4, 6-3.

Yrazusta continued her perfect weekend with another set of wins at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles against St. John's. She paired with Moreno again for a 7-5 win over St. John's top pairing of Jaide Collins and Zofia Stanisz at No. 1 doubles before she started the Minutewomen on their way to the team win over St. John's as the first singles player to finish, doing so via a 6-3, 6-1 triumph over Stanisz.

Yrazusta did not drop a set during the weekend en route to her 4-0 record. She shared the weekly accolade with VCU's Anna Rasmussen. Paola Exposito Diaz Delgado, also of VCU, won Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.
